The Run

Mom and I ran another 1/2 marathon. It was the first we have done in a year and a half. It was the hardest, but by far the most fun we have had running one. I laughed the entire mile 10, and really had to tell myself to get through the last 3.1 miles. We came in at a quick 2 hours 57 mins. I couldn't walk for a week after, and I am completely and totally rededicating myself to my training for the Fall-a-thon! So far I am doing great. I went out on a 4 mile run this evening, and had to deal with every smoker in the neighborhood out puffin and blowin. I also had to encounter all of the neighborhoods nasty trash cans out by the curb. Including ours that has Shanna's rotting hamburger in it. I almost died when I caught a whiff of it at the end of my street. I am honestly embarrassed about it and have never looked more forward to the trash being dumped tomorrow. Disgusting. I think it would have been healthier if I would have sat at home on the couch with Wendy's french fries than going out and being exposed to second hand smoke and E.Coli on my run.

Five

Bo is 5 months old now...

Kyle and I are so in love with this kid it is scary. Being a parent really is awesome! You get to wake up every morning and show this little human all these amazing things like what a key does, what a horse looks like, and what a rainstorm in the middle of summer sounds like. I am not saying there aren't moments when I get a tiny flash of life before Bo: easy, carefree, full nights sleep, but then he smiles, laughs, and grabs my nose really hard with his tiny hand, and nothing seems better. Bo, you are the best!

And it begins...

Stupid teeth. Bo and I have had our fair share this week.

Poor little mister... He is cutting his first tooth. Bo is a tough little guy and trying to be happy, buy it isn't going so well. He is drooling everywhere. He is very sensitive. He is waking up multiple times in the night. He is rubbing his tongue on it over and over. He sucks on his bottom lip non-stop. He doesn't want to eat. He head butted me in the mouth which resulted in my lip getting stuck in my braces and me now dealing with a fabulous new canker sore in my mouth. This little mean tooth better get it over with. I am going to get better prepared for the next ones coming.

I had a temporary crown put on this week. I have been needing this for about 2 years, but have been putting it off. My tooth was starting to fall apart though, and I have to get it done with the new braces situation. I hate going in for teeth anything. My siblings and I have had some pretty traumatic experiences at the dentist. The only thing that gets me through is getting hooked up to the good old nitrous tank the second I walk in the door.

Terrible things that have happened at the dentist or teeth to me and my loved ones:

The invention of sugar, popcorn, nuts, plastic, kool-aid, and fingernails.
J.C. Christensen DDS... I don't need to say anything more than I can't believe this man had a license to practice.
Mitch was called a liar at the dentist.
I had a horrible experience with wisdom teeth dry sockets.
Amanda was awake while she had her wisdom teeth removed.
Dr. Chipman DDS
Alisha turned into an actual animal in the chair during a cleaning and tried to jump from a moving vehicle after.
Shanna has ruined her nerves in her teeth from bleaching them so much.
Mom has broken teeth multiple times on toffee bits.
I have had to get fillings, root canals, and crowns REDONE due to terrible original work.
Kyle went in to have a root canal and crown done on a tooth that was in pain, and without getting pre-authorization done, we had to pay $2000 for it.
A piece of filling silver was dropped in my eye. It was painful, but not as painful as the drill cutting my cheek open as I lunged out of the chair.
Amanda was hit in the front teeth with a bowling ball, and has had a multitude of problems with a stupid fake tooth.
My teeth moved more in my 9 months of pregnancy than in my entire life.

These are just a few of the great things that have happened with my families mouths... pretty sure I will get my braces off, and all my teeth will fall out.
