The Sorensen Fam took our Christmas Disneyland trip last week. It was INCREDIBLE... in so many ways!
First- Bo. This kid gets the trooper award. We hauled him around EVERYDAY, EVERYWHERE. He had to give up a couple of naps, and sat in a stroller A LOT. But he did get to ride lots of the rides, and pic pocket for us as we shoved our way through the unbelievable crowds of people. His first ride was Pirates of the Caribbean. He fake cried almost the entire time, and wasn't so sure about the next ride we took him on, the Haunted Mansion. He was pretty sure he hated Disneyland at this point, then we threw him on Small World with Grandma and Grandpa and it turned into pure bliss for him. Singing and Dancing for 5 minutes straight. We had to go on it a few more times just because it was so fun and cute to watch him! He also loved the Tiki Room and the Teacups!
Second- The food. I don't think there was ever a 10 minute break where someone wasn't shoving some sort of concession in their face. As soon as the plane touched down in LA it started. I sure wish I had taken a picture of everything we ate. It could have filled a book. Let me list most of it. Cotton Candy, Corn Dogs, Chimichanga, Popcorn, Burritos, Ice Cream, Ice Cream, Ice Cream, Hamburgers, Chicken Fingers, French Fries, Mint Julep, Diet Sodas, Funnel Cake, Churros, Hot Chocolate, Fudge, Goofy Sours, Pancakes, Chickidees, Fruit Bowls, Soup in Bread Bowls a few times, Animal Crackers, Slushees, Quiznos, Dole Whips... It was a nonstop feast.
Third- The family. These people are so much fun to be around. We all got along this trip and everyone handled themselves appropriately. I think maybe because Mitchell wasn't there to stir the pot this time. Do I miss him, Yes. Did I wish he was there, NO. I know he would say the same about me. We spent a lot of time in the Animation class and laughing our heads off at arguments and conversations between other people at Disneyland.
It was great, and I am looking forward to our next Christmas trip in 2012 (we do this every other Christmas) I am thinking somewhere that we can just sit on a warm beach...
